His likes include original South African comedy, pictures of babies dressed as flowers and speaking about himself in the third person.

Warren Robertson started performing stand up in 2006 at the now legendary Comedy Underground in Melville, and was soon headlining it. He spent 2008/2009 in the UK where he won numerous comedy competitions and appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

In 2010 he returned to SA and was immediately nominated as Breakthrough Comedian of the year in 2011 at the Comic’s Choice Awards.

More recently he was voted The Best Comedian in Johannesburg by readers on the website oflocal.co.za in 2016 and 2017, and in the same year was made the head writer for the Comic’s Choice Awards delivering a show that critics called, “The funniest Awards show yet – News 24”. He was once again head writer in 2017.

2015 saw him make his television debuts, firstly on comedy panel show “Point of Order”, produced by ZA News, and then, playing Swede Anders Ahlstrom on Mzanzi Magic’s “The Mayor”. He has followed this up with appearances on SABC 2’s Bantu Hour, and the Comedy Central Roast Battle. In 2021 Warren was selected to be the narrator for the local South African version of the international smash hit reality TV show, Love Island.

His first one man show “Spamily” in 2012, was lauded at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown receiving sell-out crowds, and great reviews. His second show, 2015’s “The Great Explorer”, was his first all clean, family-friendly show, and was hailed as being “A smart, engrossing comedy that educates even as it makes you laugh”. His third show, “D(e)ad inside” sold out its runs in South Africa and London, UK, earning rave critical reviews in both countries along the way.

Warren’s two seasons of “The Award Winning Podcast”, were deemed by IOL to be, “SA’s Funniest Podcast”, and are still available on iTunes.

His appearance on Comedy Central in 2013 alongside SA comedy veteran Al Prodgers, saw the latter refer to him as, “The most pyrotechnic mind in South African comedy”, which Warren freely admits made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
